About Us...
We are an alternative education and training provision, offering a trauma-informed, person-centred learning environment for children who are disengaged from mainstream education or not in education, employment, or training. Learners are supported to gain confidence, skills and achieve qualifications.
Meet The Team
I’m Adam Hurst, founder and Head Teacher of YouThrive Academy, and I’m passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of children and young people—especially those who have experienced disadvantage, trauma, or disrupted education.
As a trauma-informed trainer and practitioner, with a First-Class Honours degree in Education and over seven years’ experience in the classroom—including two as Head of Year and a safeguarding lead—I believe every young person deserves to feel safe, supported, and empowered to succeed. My approach is grounded in the training I deliver, and I’m committed to helping learners build confidence, independence, and self-worth.
At YouThrive, I lead a dedicated team focused on creating opportunities, breaking down barriers, and helping every child thrive.
Magan - Teaching Assistant
I am Magan Stages. I am a teaching assistant at YouThrive Academy. I am from the United States. I have 7 years of experience working with children and young people in a variety of settings, including teaching, teacher assistant, cheer coach, curriculum pilot, PBIS Lead and tutor. During that time, I have supported children of different ages, needs and backgrounds, helping them learn, grow and feel confident.
I thrive on making education fun, engaging, and inclusive so every young person feels impowered. I love seeing children and young people grow in confidence and discover what they're capable of. Being part of their learning journey is a privilege, and it is this that drives my passion for the work I do every day.
